The Chris Gove Fund
Hello Soccer Parents, I am writing to ask for your help. As some of you may know, Chris Gove, an 11th grader at Linganore High School and a varsity soccer player, was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his right thigh in December. Chris' tumor is called a desmoid fibromatosis ( www.dtrf.org ). He is being cared for at Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC. Chris will be undergoing his second surgery on Monday March 15, 2010 to remove the entire muscle in his thigh that is affected with this cancer. If the surgery is successful, Chris will be able to avoid doing chemotherapy. Here are two ways in which you can help: undefined undefined 1. Keep Chris and his family in your thoughts and prayers, especially on March 15th. Send positive thoughts his way, healing energy or lots of prayers, whatever works for you. undefined undefined 2. Consider giving a financial donation to help defray expenses that will arise from this illness: co-pays, deductables, parking fees, gas, loss of income (as Chris' mom, Michele Canzoneri is working only part-time now in order to be available for Chris and his treatments). The Chris Gove Fund has been set-up at the PNC Bank for financial donations. You can write a check to “The Chris Gove Fund” and go to any PNC Bank and deposit it. Or you can send the check to me or give it to my son, Matthew Johnston, and I will deposit it. Also, please feel free to forward this letter to anyone you think may be interested. Chris, his family and I thank you in advance for your help. Many of us have known people who are cured of cancer. I truly believe that Chris will be one of those people. Thanks for being a part of his healing process. Sincerely, Beth Arnone Linganore Parent For more information email to John Butler.
